Van Zam is a spy and Master Chief Petty Officer for the Marines. He has been for over 70 years, but he looks as he did 70 years ago from drinking from the Fountain of Youth, the same as Nolio Bartolomeo's family. He was first seen on Buggy's ship spying on him. He ended up dying to Gekko Moriah once the Government knew that he was a Revolutionary and was actually spying on the World Government. He became a zombie under Moriah but broke free from him and applied to the Marines again to get the exact same Rank.
